Your family doctor or walk-in clinic sends us a referral by fax or Ocean eReferral. No referral yet? Just ask your doctor.
We'll call you to book
Once we receive your referral, our staff phones you to find an appointment time that works for you.
Come in for your visit
Most first visits include allergy testing the same day. Plan for about 1 to 1.5 hours.

Referrals welcome
Allergy consultations in Ontario are by physician referral. To refer a patient:
- Complete your referral note with the suspected allergy or diagnosis.
- Include relevant history, current medications, and prior testing.
- Send it by fax, or submit electronically through Ocean eReferral — we'll contact the patient to book.
OHIP-covered for eligible Ontario patients with a valid referral.
How to prepare
A first visit usually includes a detailed history and, when appropriate, skin testing the same day.
- Stop antihistamines 5–7 days before, if skin testing is planned (we'll confirm).
- Bring your health card, referral details, and a list of current medications.
- Bring any prior allergy or blood test results.
- Wear short sleeves to make skin testing easier.
Please don't stop asthma inhalers or prescribed medications without speaking to us first.

Here's what to do when you arrive for your appointment.
Check in yourself
When you arrive for a booked appointment, check in at our self-serve kiosk by the entrance. Just follow the on-screen steps and you'll be added to the queue automatically.
New to the kiosk or need a hand? Our front desk is always happy to help.

Existing patients can take care of the essentials through our secure OceanMD portal — privately, any time.
